2019 love classical music series

Temecula Presents in association with the California Chamber Orchestra present the 2018-2019 Classical Music Series. Join us for LOVE on SAT, FEB 2, 2019 at 7:30 pm.

“Love is our most poignant emotion,” says Dana Zimbric, Artistic Director and Conductor of the California Chamber Orchestra. “There is probably no greater inspiration for art, music, or literature. We want to explore different aspects of love as they relate to classical music.”

The concert includes music by two well-known composers, Mozart and Telemann.  The program also includes a piece by Peabody and Grammy-Award-winning American composer Libby Larsen.  Perhaps most exciting of all, the program includes the World Premiere of Sea Song for Cello and Strings by Brazilian composer Joao Guilherme Ripper.

“Cellist Lars Hoefs performed a recital in Temecula several years ago,” Zimbric says.  “We kept in touch, and he asked if we’d perform the premiere of this new work Ripper has written for him.  We are honorezd to be part of creating this new musical experience.”  The piece is based on a poem by Katherine Mansfield, and the performance is a part of the 2019 Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival, which Mr. Hoefs directs.

“In another expression of love, we’re very grateful to Peg Moore, who is sponsoring this concert in loving memory of her late husband, Jimmy,” says Zimbric. “Both Peg and Jimmy have been so important to the growth and success of the Temecula community, and in particular of our orchestra. We’re very proud and humbled to honor Jimmy’s memory and express our love for them both in this way.”

Return to explore the remainder of our Classical Music Series with the California Chamber Orchestra as they present Connections on SAT, APR 27, 2019 at 7:30 pm.  Cellist Joshua Roman performs on SAT, MAY 25, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the Old Town Temecula Community Theater to close Temecula Presents’ 14th Classical Music Season.
