The Temecula Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Central Homicide Unit, continue to seek tips from the public regarding the tragic loss of Larry Robinson, a well-known local musician who died from injuries the day after a robbery that took place over five years ago. On March 22, 2013, at 7:28 p.m., Temecula Police Officers arrived at a music shop located south of Old Town, at 28780 Old Town Front Street, where they discovered Mr. Robinson who was beaten. He died the next day at the hospital.
The Temecula City Council voted unanimously to extend a $25,000 reward, which would have expired in March of 2018. “Temecula has a very low violent crime rate and homicides are rare here,” stated Temecula Mayor Matt Rahn. “This is, and will always be, a devastating loss for our community and our hope is that someone comes forward with information,” Rahn added. The reward will be paid to anyone who furnishes information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who caused the death of Larry Robinson.
Music of Larry Robinson, from his CD Old California Town, played throughout the speakers in Old Town on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, before and after a press conference hosted at City Hall. The media was invited to hear information about the crime for publishing in an effort to renew public input. At the press conference, the County’s Central Homicide Unit republished sketches from information they received in 2015 regarding two adult males of interest believed to be in their 20’s and both approximately 5’10”. One is described as a white male of thin build, dark hair, some facial hair and possible tattoos on both arms. The other appears to be an Asian male who, at the time, had spiked, dyed red hair with blonde tips, and colorful tattoos on both arms.
Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is encouraged to call the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777. A video of the press conference is posted on the Temecula Police Department’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/temeculapolice/videos/558232411229037/.
