The Junior Women’s STEM Program is a monthly after school program for middle school girls interested in STEM fields. Each session includes demonstrations, hands-on activities, and engaging presentations. Students learn about a new topic each month, such as biology, astronomy, and environmental science.
The Junior Women's STEM Program is intended to supplement classroom material and engage students who are interested in getting more involved in STEM fields. It is designed to teach students about varying STEM fields and give them a chance to engage with like-minded peers.
The program strives to:
Increase students' understanding of STEM skills as well as increasing their understanding of the applications of STEM in daily life
Increase students' interest in pursuing STEM careers and STEM related elective classes, subjects, and majors
