Economic Development Strategy

Overview 

This plan is intended to assist City Staff implement strategies that contribute to the City's economic health, enhance Temecula's business climate and support economic growth in the City, in a manner consistent with Temecula's character. The goals and objectives included in this plan contemplate a two year time frame and were derived from the overarching principles found in the Temecula 2030 Quality of Life Master Plan (QLMP). The QLMP, approved by the City Council, serves as the City's road map by driving business and budgetary decisions. 

Five Primary Principals

1. Pursue Long-Term Economic Diversification:  Support investment in our community that creates quality job opportunities, both through existing business growth and attraction

2. Support the Retail Sector's Adaptation to a Changing Marketplace: Enhance commercial districts to create quality shopping and dining experiences

3. Nurture Small Business

4. Encourage Activities that Attract Visitors and Conventioneers

5. Cultivate an Entrepreneurial and Academic Environment
