Level Placement Guide
Putting your child in the appropriate level is critical for their success. Please use the following resources to determine your child's swim level BEFORE registering them for a swim class.
This program is an "open house" format; no need to register, simply arrive during the times listed below.
How it Works: Each swimmer will be in the water for a few minutes one-on-one with one of our Water Safety Instructors. The instructor will ask them to perform various skills based on their age and comfort in the water. Once the evaluation is over, the instructor will recommend a level for your swimmer based on what they observed.
Come Prepared: Make sure each swimmer who is getting evaluated comes in their bathing suit and brings a towel. You do not need to bring a flotation device.
Use our Level Prerequisite (PDF) questions to determine the correct level for your child.
If you are still uncertain and need help determining which level is best for your swimmer and would like to talk to someone, call us at 951-308-6396.
Note: If enrollment is made into a class that is not at the child's ability the Aquatic Office cannot guarantee that space in another class will be available. If you are unsure of the appropriate level we recommend taking the swim level assessment.
