Senate Bill 35 (Government Code 65913.4) requires cities to establish objective design standards for multi-family development. These standards are in addition to any existing objective Municipal Code requirements, Development Standards, Building Codes, Fire Codes or standards adopted prior to SB35, like a Specific Plan.  An interactive version and printable version of the document are available below. For projects ineligible for SB35, our Citywide Design Guidelines, and/or Specific Plan standards will apply.
