Who are you going to call if a nuisance coyote is trying to take your pet?
City of Temecula
The City of Temecula contracts with the Animal Friends of the Valleys for animal control and shelter services.
Animal Friends of the Valleys
Although the Animal Friends of the Valleys provides animal control and shelter services to the City of Temecula, coyote issues are referred to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
California Department of Fish and Wildlife
California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) does not remove, trap or put to death coyotes that have taken (killed or attacked) pets. However, when CDFW is notified about a documented attack on a human by a coyote (and physical contact has occurred), the CDFW will serve as the lead agency in the investigation. It is recommended that individuals interested in removing a problem coyote from their neighborhood hire a trained professional.
