Experience Arts, Culture and Entertainment in 2017 at First Fridays

Experience arts, culture, and entertainment the First Fridays each month in Old Town Temecula. These unique events include two exhibitions with free entertainment and light refreshments. Your First Fridays Art Crawl can begin in The Gallery at the Merc (42051 Main Street) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm for an artist reception with a featured artist each month. Continue through the heart of arts and culture to Art Off The Walls in the Truax Building (41923 Second Street) from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, where over 20 artists exhibit their works in all mediums.

Temecula’s own, Shawna Sarnowski Photography launches the 2017 exhibitions with her one-of-a-kind, multi-media exhibit of photographs in The Gallery at the Merc. Meet and greet Temecula’s favorite photographer in The Merc and immerse yourself in the creative, innovative, and imaginative display. This unique photography exhibition will feature ten televisions shuffling Theater performance imagery and City Event photos through January 29, 2017. There will be a Memory Wall highlighting Ms. Sarnowski’s captivating photos and heart-felt messages penned by the subjects themselves.  Experience an entirely new art form from textile artist Allyson Allen. Meet Ms. Allen at the First Friday Artist Reception in The Gallery at The Merc. Enjoy refreshments and visit while Ms. Allen offers insight into the Black History Quilts. Ms. Allen combines art, research, original design, history and culture in traditional contemporary pieces that will be on display throughout the month of February. The Merc will also host a celebration on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 7:00pm, focused on the messages of Dr. Martin Luther King in honor of Black History Month. Guests will have a chance to revisit Ms. Allen’s artwork before enjoying the ticketed performance. For tickets to Black History Celebrations, visit www.TemeculaTheater.org.
